Scrappy Elephant for a special little boy

Scrappy Elephant for Tiffany and Baby William

When I found out Tiffany was pregnant, my thoughts went to preparing for the arrival of our first grandchild in the next year.

I ordered an elephant pattern from Etsy and made a "scrappy" elephant with all my white and grey scraps.

I love how the scrappiness makes it look vintage.

Gifting a stuffed animal to Tiffany for Christmas might have seemed like an odd gift, but I think it is perfect because she has always loved baby elephants.

It was a delight to watch Tiffany open her Christmas gift.

Everyone in the (J) Dawson family received a gift this year. Jimmy received the Koi Fish (Swimming in Circles), Tiffany received Something Blue Made New and our coming grandson received a stuffed elephant.

While we were visiting with Tiffany and Jimmy, they set up an appointment to have a "gender" ultrasound. It was a family affair with Tiffany, Jimmy, Keith, Spencer, Michelle, Bethany and myself. We all got to celebrate that we will be blessed with a grandson. They have named him William Oliver. We can't wait for June to arrive and we will meet baby William.

Every handmade item tells a story. This is the story of making a special gift for both my daughter and my coming grandchild using my fabric scraps.

Every Quilt Tells A Story
Whether it is the fabrics chosen, the design, the colors, the occasion, the recipient, or the people I quilt with, every quilt tells a story. This blog captures in images and words what has been created for others and for my own home through the hum and stitching of my sewing machine.
