Blue Birthday Gifts

Blue Table Runner
18”x50”
September 2020
For Angela Slade

We went to Colorado for our summer vacation. I brought along my sewing machine and all the scraps leftover from Angela's Blue Puzzle Quilt.

I asked her if she would like for me to make her something, and she said she liked the table runner that I had finished for Tiffany.

So, I set out to make use of all of the scraps.

A throw pillow was the perfect project to make with all the pockets I had originally cut from Angela's jeans from the denim rag quilt (2019). This was really fun to make.

I completed the table runner and throw pillow in time to mail to her for her birthday.

Every quilt tells a story. This is the story of making use of the fabric and denim scraps from previous quilts to make birthday gifts for my sister.

Every Quilt Tells A Story
Whether it is the fabrics chosen, the design, the colors, the occasion, the recipient, or the people I quilt with, every quilt tells a story. This blog captures in images and words what has been created for others and for my own home through the hum and stitching of my sewing machine.
