Finished September 2019 - Mailed December 2019
I had mentioned that I had the "crazy" idea of making everyone quilts for Christmas (3 quilts in 6 months).
When Al saw my Values quilt, he immediately said, "I have some t-shirts that I've always wanted to put into a t-shirt quilt." So, I've added a jeans rag quilt and a t-shirt quilt as well to my Christmas list of gifts to make.
The next thing I knew, he was showing up with a large bag of old t-shirts to make into a quilt.
Fortunately for me, Nancy has completed a couple of t-shirt quilts and so she is able to help me with this additional project.
Doing a t-shirt quilt has its own craziness. Ironing seems to go on forever!!!!
I wasn't thinking and I added sashing to both sides and so the seam ripper came out. Then I somehow caught extra parts of the quilt in my seams so I had to seam rip some more.
Operation Christmas Quilt 2019 Count - 3.
Every quilt tells a story. This is the story of preserving the memories of my family, learning how to make a t-shirt quilt, and that sashing only goes on one side of the block.
Every Quilt Tells A Story
Whether it is the fabrics chosen, the design, the colors, the occasion, the recipient, or the people I quilt with, every quilt tells a story. This blog captures in images and words what has been created for others and for my own home through the hum and stitching of my sewing machine.
