A table runner for a home of many colors

Multi-Colored Table Runner
Gifted December 2018

The quilting of my Christmas gifts continues.

I saw a quilt image on Pinterest that looked like something I could accomplish without difficulty. As usual, I do not have a printed pattern to follow.

This table runner is for my mom who is a writer and an artist. As an artist, she is colorful and full of life.

I think the colors of this runner will match both her personality and her painted chairs. She has an eclectic collection of chairs painted in green with paint splatters, Her mismatched chairs are now a matched set. Her table is set with placemats made from old paint palettes covered with polyurethane.

Her dining room is an array of reds, greens, rusts, and other warm colors.  The celery color was chosen because this is a favorite color for Mom.

Inspiration for colors in making the table runner.

Christmas gift #3 is completed in time to get everything mailed.

It is now time to finish up the final Christmas gifts for the rest of the family.

Every quilt tells a story. This is the story of making a table runner that would complement my mom's artistic personality and her home of many colors.

Every Quilt Tells a Story
Whether it is the fabrics chosen, the design, the colors, the occasion, the recipient, or the people I quilt with, every quilt tells a story. This blog captures in images and words what has been created through the hum and stitching of my sewing machine.
